Founded in 1942, the Aumsville Fire District has proudly served and protected its community for over 80 years. Covering 24.4 square miles and serving more than 6,200 residents, we operate from our main station and a substation in Shaw, which houses our training center and vital rural water supply.
Our modern fleet includes upgraded Type 1 and Type 3 engines, tenders, and brush trucks, ready to respond to both structural and wildland fires. As an independent Special Service District, we are governed by a five-member elected board, dedicated to transparency, leadership, and active community engagement.
More than just firefighters, we are your neighbors—committed to keeping Aumsville safe, prepared, and resilient in every emergency.
Located in the eastern Willamette Valley, 20 miles east of Salem, the Drakes Crossing Fire District serves a unique area between Silverton and Sublimity along Highway 214, bordering Silver Falls State Park. While we don’t cover the park itself, we provide coverage for Silver Falls and Longview Fiber. Serving 800 residents across 25 square miles, we also protect over 1 million visitors to Silver Falls annually. Unlike a typical fire department, we are a Fire District governed by a five-person Board of Directors, ensuring focused oversight. Through continuous training and dedication, we deliver top-tier fire protection and medical services to the citizens and visitors of Drakes Crossing.
